Landon's Nursery Reveal

When I found out I was pregnant with Landon it took me some time to really accept that this baby was actually happening. I was too scared to even think about how I'd decorate his nursery at the beginning. So the decorating part didn't really start until my 3rd trimester. Even then I didn't have a solid "theme" that I wanted to go with.

So one day after dropping Raegan off at school Hudson and I headed to Hobby Lobby. The Mecca of decor ideas. I thought for sure I could find a theme while walking around. Well of course, like any 1 year old, Hudson wasn't interested. So I literally started just throwing things into my cart that I liked and prayed that once I got home it would all go together in some way.

After getting the babies down for the night I pulled out all my treasures, laid them out, and the theme of Landon's room was born. It has more of a woodsy, industrial, modern feel to it. I'm loving the grey, white, and blacks right now which definitely came out when I started piecing his room together.
Fortunately his room came together pretty easily! Everything I envisioned I easily found at either Target, Wayfair, or Etsy.

Once we transitioned Raegan out of her crib and into her big girl bed, we just moved it into Landon's room. Took her a few weeks to be "ok" that her crib was no longer "her" crib. Now we are good! She talks about how the baby is going to go in her old bed. You got it girlfriend!

Pretty much the only way I convinced Kyle to let me buy this crib (it's from Restoration Hardware) when I was pregnant with Rae was saying that I'd use it with all my babies and fortunately it's totally gender neutral. We have it in brown for Hudson's room too. No way in heck was I was taking Raegan out of a crib at 19 months when he was born. No sir! It wasn't until after I had Hudson that I found pretty much the exact crib on Wayfair for WAY less. So you're welcome. I linked the crib below.

The chair that we had in Raegan's room we moved to Hudson's room when he was born. I really didn't miss having it in Raegan's room, but for some reason this time around, I still use it a lot in Hudson's room. So I knew I wanted to get another for Landon's room. I found this perfect rocker from Wayfair that I absolutely love! The best part is that once we are done using it in his room, it can be repurposed for somewhere else! The perfect neutral chair. The lamp also came from Wayfair and the side table is from Target.

Right when you walk into the room to the left there was this blank space between the bedroom door and the closet. This little area wasn't really planned, but I knew I wanted something there. I found this adorable cubby bookshelf at Target as well as the crates. It'll be a great place to store toys and books later on when he's older.

Picking out a dresser was easy. I loved the one we got for Hudson's nursery, so I got the exact same one in grey.

Right now there's not much on top of the dresser, but we all know that'll change once he's here.

I found this adorable bookshelf at Hobby Lobby and knew I had to make it work. It was too good to put back. It's the perfect place for little knick knacks.

The little shoes on top of his name are my dad's. The perfect addition to his nursery since Landon's middle name is my dad's name, Patrick.

And these adorable handmade signs were the perfect rustic addition to my vision for his nursery.

Can't wait to bring home our sweet boy in the next 6 weeks.

Hudson's Nursery

When I began envisioning Hudson's nursery I had so many ideas. I knew I wanted to do a vintage baseball theme because Kyle is a huge Cubs fan. His mom saved lots of his baseball items from when he was young as well that I was able to use in the decor of the room.

I love the simplicity of his room and could seriously sit in the middle of the room all day long. I love how sentimental his room is and how much it means to Kyle to have decorated it with all of his childhood memorabilia.

Kyle also built the shelf over his dresser and I love that daddy put his touch on the nursery too.

We decided not to paint his room because we are planning on moving within 4-6 months of Hudson being born, so we stuck with the simple color and plan to paint his room once we move.

So without further ado, welcome to Hudson's nursery.

Nursery Reveal

It is FINALLY ready for it's debut! I have worked so hard to get her nursery exactly like I wanted it and it's finally done! One week before she arrives :) So without further delay...
you may be asking yourself, ummm, Ashley where is the chair? Well here's the thing. I got the amazing idea last night to move the chair downstairs to our room so I can use it when she arrives. I wasn't planning on taking pictures till this morning when the room has the best light, so the chair missed the pictures. And I'm pretty sure Kyle would have killed me if I asked him to move the chair back upstairs just for a picture :) So here's a picture of the chair from my iphone (bleh!) but it's better than nothing!

And since our room is downstairs and far away from the nursery, she will be staying in our room for awhile. Here is the set up we have in our room. Definitely not as cute as her nursery :)

Alright, sweet girl, everything is ready for you! Time to get a move on!!!

Bump Update
How far along? 24 weeks

Total weight gain: I am not caring anymore how much I've gained. I'm gaining exactly the amount that baby Rae needs! So no more looking when they weigh me. I will look though at my last weigh in to know how much I gained for the whole pregnancy.

Maternity clothes?  FULL on maternity clothes now. Texas has been having silly weather, it's time for warm weather, but it's still chilly, so I can't wait till it's warm so I can sport dresses and flip flops 24/7.

Stretch marks? nope! Mom didn't have any, so I don't expect to get any. I heard stretch marks are all in the genetics.

Sleep: I decided to put the snoogle away for a bit and it's actually been helping me sleep! Of course, I'm up 3-4 times a night to pee, but it's just preparing me for the near future :)

Best moment this week: There have been a lot of best moments this week.
1. getting the nursery painted happened this weekend. Her theme is pink, navy, and grey. Her crib will go on the striped wall. I'm pretty proud of our stripes!

2. winning $250 to PinkBlush Maternity. Yep! This happened! All I had to do was hashtag #prettyinpinkblush in a picture on Instagram that I was wearing a PinkBlush item and I was entered into the monthly contest for $250. I've been trying since I got pregnant and I finally won! And the fact that this sweet picture at our gender reveal won makes it even more special. I will be doing a blog post once I receive all my items. Yes, I already used the gift card. I can't wait to get all of clothes! It's my favorite maternity clothing store for sure!

3. finally getting Rae kicking on video. Baby Rae finally cooperated and I got to capture her moving and grooving! Watch my right side (the top of the video) at about 7 seconds she lets out a big kick! Make my heart melt!

Miss anything? I know this is vain, but I miss my pre-pregnancy arms. I know I'm supposed to gain weight, and I am not complaining about that, but the gaining of the weight has been harder to deal with that I thought. I am gaining it rather quickly and know I will be gaining so much more. Hence my not looking at the scale anymore. There's not much I can do besides eat healthy and get in as much cardio as I can. My body is going to gain the weight it needs for baby.

Food cravings: Craving Chick-fila constantly! I could eat it for every meal! And love fruit :) I have a feeling this will be constant through the rest of the pregnancy!

Anything making you queasy or sick? nope! I think I've finally moved passed the nausea! Wahoo!

Gender: Pink

Labor signs: nope

Symptoms: swollen everything (my rings are starting to get tight), constant peeing, leaking (lovely, I know! working on adding more kegel exercises to my day), round ligament pain, back pain, and I'm sure more will be added to the list as I get bigger!

Belly button in or out?  In! And I don't think it will ever pop. It's the deepest inney ever! It's starting to stretch sideways though.

Wedding rings on or off: On, but I'm not sure how much longer. I plan on buying a fake ring alittle bigger in size so I don't have to be without a ring.

Happy or moody most of the time: I am happy! ALL the time! But the emotions sometimes get to me, it comes on quick and I just want to cry. Haven't actually broken down and cried yet, but who knows what will set me off? :)

Looking forward to: decorating the nursery and our trip to Boston this weekend. Can't wait to get some sushi! No raw though, I promise :)

Nursery Inspiration

I know I know, you may be thinking "where is week 14 bump update?" I promise I'll have it up this week, but last night I worked out and did NOT want to do my bump update picture so it'll happen on a night that I look alittle more put together.

I have decided that pinterest is seriously the best thing ever. I don't know how I planned my wedding without it and honestly feel that I should get a redo for my wedding. Ha!

I was reading my friend Stephanie's blog, The Icing On Our Cake, and she shared her nursery inspiration and I thought "what a great idea!" So I am going to do the same!

So for our boy's inspiration we are going with a baseball theme, but not too baseball-y. The bedding will be the colors of the room, navy, red, and grey and then I will accent with baseball memorabilia. Take a look at my pinterest baby boy nursery board. (Click on the picture to be taken to my pinterest board).

For our girl nursery, I have fallen in LOVE with cobalt blue, coral, and gold. It isn't overly girly, but still has the hint of pink. I have a few other ideas pinned on my board, but the coral and gold has hit hard for me and we will definitely be sticking to that color scheme! (Click on the picture to be taken to my pinterest board).

Even if you are not pregnant, but plan on one day having children, what colors are you planning on doing for your nursery?
